Copenhaver & Associates is owned and operated by James A. Copenhaver, a retired major case investigator with over 20 years of experience. He has trained and experienced all aspects of Law Enforcement at local, State and Federal levels. As an expert in criminal drug investigations, he has been involved in hundreds of felony drug investigations and arrests, and has assisted in the prosecution of these cases. He has also authored numerous search warrants, arrest warrants and other fact-finding documents. He has written Title 3 applications (wire taps), and participated in numerous Title 3 investigations.

While assigned to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, he conducted investigations in the Tri-County area, as well as state wide. Also sworn agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (Task Force), and the United States Marshall Service, he gained experience in and conducted investigations within the Federal system.

James Copenhaver was also assigned to a Criminal Investigations Unit, where he investigated homicides, sexual batteries, person crimes and white color crime investigations, to include bank robberies. He has successfully attended and completed numerous Local, State and Federal schools, which gave him the knowledge, training and experience to understand criminal investigations, Police policy and procedures, and the Law.

Working as an investigator with defense attorneys in the Central Florida, while using his past training and experience, has assisted in uncovering and detecting the true facts therefore, providing them with the needed information, for a favorable outcome in several criminal and civil cases.
